The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) released the Smart Policing Initiative (SPI) 2020 Competitive Grant Solicitation! SPI is a BJA–sponsored initiative that supports law enforcement agencies in building evidence-based, data-driven law enforcement tactics and strategies that are effective, efficient, and economical. SPI represents a strategic approach that helps police agencies figure out what works in crime prevention and crime reduction initiatives. The SPI solicitation is a competitive award available to public law enforcement agencies that are seeking to develop and implement innovative policing approaches to address emerging or pressing issues in their communities.
