September 2012 Northeast Regional Peer-to-Peer Meeting

The Northeast Regional Smart Policing Initiative (SPI) Peer-to-Peer Seminar, held in Cambridge, MA, on September 25-26, 2012, provided an opportunity for participants from five Phase III sites  to gather and exchange information and lessons learned in a collaborative environment. The five sites in attendance were Boston, MA; Cambridge, MA (including partners from Everett, MA and Somerville, MA); Lowell, MA; New Haven, CT; and York, ME. 

Noted organization leadership expert Dr. Robert Behn of the Harvard University Kennedy School of Government was the invited speaker; he spoke about CompStat and “PerformanceStat” as emerging forms of organizational accountability. In attendance were Alissa Huntoon, Policy Advisor with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA); support personnel from CNA, the SPI training and technical assistance provider; and SPI subject matter expert Julie Wartell.
